Amber and Shaun,
We were saddened to learn of the passing of our dear friend, LaRae. The last time we saw Glen and LaRae was when we all traveled to Egypt, Jordan and Israel in 1996. It was literally a Stake and Ward reunion. Such a wonderful time, and fun to be with your parents again. I'll have to tell you a really funny story involving your dad and our time on the Sea of Galilee.

To the family of LeRae,
I am saddened to hear of this difficult time for you. I know LeRae was always very dear to my mother both as family and friend, and every word spoken about her was always kind.

President Hoggan,
We are so sorry to hear about your sweet wife. We just learned of this yesterday and we are so sorry we missed the funeral. Sister Hoggan has had a big impact on our lives. She was an amazing woman and we know she is making people laugh in heaven. Please know you are in our thoughts and prayers and we know she will be busy until she gets to be with you again.

Dear Glen,
We heard about LeRae's passing and we are so sorry. We didn't know that she was ill so this news was such a shock. She was such a beautiful woman and so much fun to be around. Please know that Lou and I are thinking about you still and miss you and your family up at Mt. Air.

God bless you and yours,

Dear Bro. Hoggan,
I'm very sorry to hear of your loss. My mom just passed away about 6 weeks ago, so thoughts of loved ones who've passed have been very much on our family's minds recently. You and your sweet LeRae were always wonderful examples to the young people in the Danville Ward. You were a remarkable Priests' adviser, and your friendship and support were very influential in my decision to serve a mission. I know my life is just one of many that you, LeRae, and your family have blessed. Thanks for your example and friendship. May the sweet peace of the Comforter bless you all during this difficult time.

With love,
Eric Monson

Hello Eric,

I remember you and the faithful Benjamin very well. Benjamin's experience will be a faith promoting story for us who know about him. The Hoggans played a major part to my family's spiritual growth. We are so sorry to hear LeRae's passing but grateful that she doesn't have physical pain anymore.
Our oldest son is named after them - Glen LeRoy Wakolo and is 11 years old.

Anita and I are coming to SL for the General Conference and we were planning to give them a call whilst there. They are truly great disciples. We will pray for President Hoggan and all the family so that they can have continuous peace during this trying time. I hope the Kirkhams are holding up
well too.

Please let President Hoggan and the family know of our love and appreciation for them. We will be forever grateful for their eternal friendship. We hope the funeral arrangement and service will go well as planned. We also had a wonderful memory when they notified us the passing of Le Raes Dad a few years ago.

With much love and appreciation.
Taniela, Anita, Glen and Jasmin Wakolo.

What a pleasure it is to be a part of the Hoggan/Christensen family. I have spent some time reading many of the messages on this website. I too would like to add my thoughts.

Little brother:
I am the youngest in the family, whereas LeRae was the oldest. Many of the things she did during my growing up years, she did while I was pretty young. I remember well the boyfriend she brought to our home. His name was Glen Hoggan. Glen always treated me as someone very special. I remember him drawing pictures of me on the blackboard in our back bedroom. This was always a fun experience to see what art work he had left me from his last visit.
What a friend LeRae had found. What a sister!

Service:
Service has been one of the main identifying marks of Glen and LeRae. Many close friends and relatives have been helped and assisted as Glen and LeRae have selflessly given much of their time and energy during the last moments of these dear friends lives. This, of course, includes both our mother and father.
As has been mentioned before, they have served several missions together and proclaimed the message of the Restored Gospel of Jesus Christ to many in the world.
In addition to her service in many of the auxiliaries of the Church, she has been a most supportive companion to Glen as he has served in his many assignments.
LeRae has been a true servant of our Heavenly Father and served well! What a sister!

Parenting:
Being a parent is not the easiest thing—no one will deny. Glen and LeRae worked at this, but many times LeRae was alone as Glen was required to provide a living—on the road—away from home. This left LeRae by her self to manage the home-front. Can anyone see the Hoggan family now and the fruits of their labors? Talk about amazing!—awesome!! What a marvel—the Hoggan family! What a parent! What a sister!

Teacher:
As Glen and LeRae were to leave for their mission to Fiji, LeRae said to me: “You will need to help by calling our father every day to keep in touch with him. This is what I tried to do. Every morning from my work, I called and spoke with my father. What a revelation this was. I never knew my father as well until this tradition started. It continued until Glen and LeRae returned from their mission and beyond to the end of father’s life. This is a very cherished part of my life. This would never have happened without LeRae‘s invitation. Perhaps this might have started the re-writing of our father’s Family Home Manuals. This then has opened up whole new horizons to family history, stories, scripture and more—all because of LeRae. What a teacher! What a sister!

Glen:
This will be a new life for you. You will lead the way for many of us who will follow. You have always been a main leader in our family. Your future days will be empty and lonely but, there are the teachings of Christ and living prophets that will give vision and hope for the tomorrows ahead. If any from our circle could assist in your life’s travels, please permit us the opportunity.

May the Lord’s choicest blessings be with you Glen, your children and grandchildren.

Dear Hoggan family. I was sorry to hear from my daughter, Sue of LeRae's passing. The Hollands and Hoggans go back a long way in Danville. Sterling and Ann were frequently here playing with our kids with never a dull moment. Those were fun years. Best of luck to Dad. I know you will cherish the memories of your many years together. Best wishes to you all.

Dear Hoggan family,
I first got to know your family by way of Steve and Ann. I loved Ann's enthusiasm and wonderful spirit. Imagine my surprise to find her parents in my new ward when I moved. When I got to know Sister Hoggan I knew where Ann's great spirit came from. Sister Hoggan's friendly manner always made me feel welcome wherever we were. Her happiness was infectious. My prayers are with you at this time.
